Eligibility
Any person or business entity that is engaged in, or that anticipates being engaged in, the manufacture or wholesale sale of personal absorbent products in North America and that commits to paying all applicable membership dues, study costs and assessments, is eligible for membership in the PAPC as either a Full Member or an Associate Member.
Full Members
A Full Member of the PAPC may have its Official Representative eligible for election to the Board of Directors; may have any representative eligible for appointment to other committees; have access to the full data from research projects undertaken by the PAPC; is responsible for a full share of membership dues and assessments; and has one full vote as a member.
Associate Members
An Associate Member of the PAPC may not have its Official Representative eligible for election to the Board of Directors; may have any representative eligible for appointment to other committees; has access to the full data from research projects undertaken by the PAPC; is responsible for a limited share of dues and assessments as provided in Article VII, and has its vote as a member limited by the provisions of Article III, Section 6.
Selection of Categories
Full or Associate Members select between the two categories of membership upon joining the PAPC and may change the selection no more than once each year by written notice to the PAPC Executive Director for distribution of the letter to the Board of Directors by February 15th. The selection is at the discretion of each member depending upon the interest of the member in participation in the activities and receipt of the benefits of the PAPC.
Affiliate Members
Affiliate membership is available to any person or entity in the following categories:
- Any person or business entity engaged in or that anticipates being engaged in the manufacture, sale or use of fluid absorbing polyacrylates outside of North America and not engaging or anticipating engagement in such manufacture, sale or use in North America is eligible for membership in the PAPC as an Affiliate Member.
- Any person or business entity engaged in or that anticipates being engaged in the manufacture, sale or use of fluid absorbing polyacrylates in North America whether or not the manufacture of such materials occurs in North America is eligible for membership in the PAPC as an Affiliate Member.
- Any association of the persons or business entities described in (1) or (2) is eligible for membership in the PAPC as an Affiliate Member.
An Affiliate Member may not have any representative eligible for election or appointment to PAPC committees; has access to only summary results from research projects undertaken by the PAPC; is responsible for a limited share of dues as provided in Article VII, Section 1, but is not responsible for any assessments; and has no right to vote as a member.
Official Representatives
To facilitate communications between the PAPC and its members each member designates an individual to serve as its Official Representative upon joining the PAPC and may change the selection at any time by written notice to the President.
Application for Membership
An applicant for membership in the PAPC in any category must submit an application in the form provided and must demonstrate eligibility or membership and commitment to be responsible for applicable dues and assessment.
